Our involvement with
Labrador Retrievers began over 20
years ago and has created a
journey that has led us to many
intriguing paths. Having been raised
with German Shepherds, I lost my
last dog to old age, and because
of familiarity, began a search
for another German Shepherd.
However, after finding that the
breed had changed so dramatically
with crouching, severely
angulated rears, longer narrow
heads, and having witnessed
aggressive temperaments at
ringside, I began a search for a
people-loving dog and family
companion, who enjoyed all
seasons, to fulfill my needs.
Little did I know that this
search would lead me to the
Labrador Retriever who has more
to offer mankind than I ever
realized.
Good temperament and soundness
of an animal are most important
to us. These are the basics that
give you the foundation for every
involvement a dog will have in
his(or her) life. Our primary
objective is to improve the breed
through selective breeding and by
producing healthy Labradors that
excel in temperament, soundness
and trainability. All of our
stock is certified clear of
hip/elbow dysplasia, have annual
eye clearances, and we have a
written replacement purchase
agreement.
Over the years, we
have been involved in
conformation showing, obedience
and field work and feel that a
well-balanced dog is titled at
both ends. These are activities
that we enjoy, and I never stop
being amazed at the loving,
giving and willingness- to-
please attitude that the Labrador
Retriever exhibits on a daily
basis, in just wanting to be your
best friend and companion - a
true family dog.
We have placed dogs with
Service Organizations where they
have been paired with persons
with special needs assisting with
sight, assisting with activities
of daily living, and the first
dog in British Columbia who is
the companion of a child with
uncontrolled seizures (the dog
often having premonitions in
advance of a seizure and alerting
the child to lie down and
pressing an alarm in the house).
We visit seniors' residences
and nursing homes where our dogs
continually wag their tails to an
outstretched hand and pat,
bringing smiles to all.
The Labrador
Retrievers' versatility never
fails to continually amaze
us
..a true family
companion!
